New Reporting Periods and Data Display
At the start of a new month or quarter, your dashboard may display limited data until new scans are conducted within the current reporting period. During this time, you may notice that certain grade scores are missing or represented by a dash ("-") rather than a score. This is expected behavior due to how reporting periods work in the CYRISMA platform:
- Monthly Reporting Periods: Start on the 1st day of each month and end on the last day of that month.
- Quarterly Reporting Periods: Begin on the 1st day of each quarter (January 1, April 1, July 1, October 1) and continue until the last day of the quarter.
Without a new scan in the current reporting period, certain risk grades and metrics will remain blank until updated scan data is available.
Best Practice for Scanning in New Reporting Periods
To ensure continuous visibility and accurate grade scores in your dashboard, we recommend conducting scans within the first few days of each new month or quarter. This proactive approach will ensure that your grade scores are updated promptly, providing immediate insights into your instance’s risk posture at the beginning of each reporting period.
By following this best practice, you can avoid temporary gaps in data visibility and maintain up-to-date grade scores, allowing for better tracking and decision-making throughout the month or quarter.
