Departments
Departments are internal divisions within an organization designed to organize risk mitigation efforts within CYRISMA. They help segment responsibilities, making it easier to assign and manage mitigation plans. Users are typically associated with specific departments based on their organizational roles, with plans and sub-plans handled at the department level.

Built-in Departments
The Built-in Departments section lists pre-configured departments provided by CYRISMA. These departments are fixed and cannot be edited or deleted. They are available for convenience and cover common organizational divisions, including:
- Billing
- Customer Service
- Executives
- Finance
- Human Resources
- Information Technology
- Legal
- Logistics
- Marketing
- Medical Records
- Production
- Purchasing
- Quality Assurance
- R & D
- Sales
Many organizations work with these predefined departments, but custom departments can be created to suit specific organizational structures.

Custom Departments
Custom Departments provide flexibility to create organizational divisions that better match the structure and unique needs of your organization.
Creating a Custom Department
- Click Add New.
- Enter the Name and Description for the department in the form fields that appear.
- Save or cancel the action as required.
Managing Custom Departments
- Enable/Disable Departments: You can toggle the status of a department. Disabled departments do not appear as options when setting up mitigation plans or assigning sub-plans.
- Edit Departments: Use the pencil icon in the Edit column to modify the name or description of a department.
- Delete Departments: If a department is no longer needed, click the trash icon in the Delete column to remove it. Note that a department cannot be deleted if it is assigned to any open mitigation plans or sub-plans.

Recommendations
- It is best to set up all necessary custom departments before adding users. However, departments can be added at any time, and users can be reassigned to departments later, provided there are no active mitigation sub-plans assigned to the user.
- Use descriptive names and accurate descriptions to ensure clarity when assigning departments to users or plans.
Department Management Interface
The Departments page is divided into two sections:
- Built-in Departments: Lists the predefined departments provided by CYRISMA. These cannot be edited or deleted.
- Custom Departments: Displays custom-created departments, along with options to enable, disable, edit, or delete them.
Search and Pagination
- Use the Search Box to locate specific departments quickly.
- Adjust the number of rows displayed per page using the dropdown menu at the bottom right of each table.
