The Data Scan Dashboard provides an in-depth view of the sensitivity and security of your organization's data. By analyzing current and past data scans, you can assess the vulnerability of your instance based on the sensitivity of identified data. High-sensitivity data increases exposure, as its loss or theft could have significant repercussions.

Data Scan Risk Grades

The Data Scan Risk Grades section allows you to track progress in reducing data sensitivity and strengthening security based on scan scores. This grade system, along with the Data Scan Trend graph, helps you monitor your organization's progress over selected time periods (monthly or quarterly). Continuous monitoring through this dashboard is recommended to reduce data sensitivity effectively.

Data Scan Trend

The Data Scan Trend graph provides a historical view of scanning efforts for your instance over various time frames. Using a drop-down selection, you can view data scan trends by risk grade or the number of sensitive files identified.

The trend display offers a visual representation of the reduction or increase in sensitive files over different time intervals. This view helps you assess whether your scanning efforts are decreasing sensitive file quantities or if more areas need focus.

Top 5 Categories Searched

This section displays the top five categories of data that have been most frequently searched in data scans since the first scan performed on your instance. It highlights key areas of focus within your organization’s data security practices.

Top 10 Targets with Most Sensitive Data

This section showcases the top 10 targets (e.g., devices, servers) with the most sensitive data identified. For each target, the display includes:

• The date of the last scan
• Total completed scans
• Cumulative count of sensitive items
• Percentage score of sensitive items versus overall items discovered
• Overall risk grade for the target

This overview helps identify which assets have the highest sensitivity exposure and require further action.

Data Category Tree Map Summary

The Data Category Tree Map Summary provides a visual breakdown of the types of sensitive data identified across your instance. Use the "view by month" slider to examine month-by-month data discoveries. This visual tool also serves as an interactive filter, allowing you to drill down into specific data categories.

For example, if you select a category like "Passwords," the items found display will instantly show details of each item, including names, discovery dates, and locations for that specific month.

Active Data Scans

This section lists any data scans currently in progress for your instance, giving a live view of ongoing scanning activities.

Last 5 Data Scans

Here, you’ll find details on the last five data scans conducted for your instance. For each of these scans, you can produce a report by clicking on the scan name. Reports are available in three formats:

• Executive Summary
• Full Detail
• Specific Detail

This feature allows you to quickly access insights from recent scans to evaluate ongoing data sensitivity and security.

Scheduled Scans

This section shows any scheduled data scans for your instance that are currently open. Scheduled scans allow for consistent monitoring of data sensitivity over time.

Mitigation Plans in Progress

This area provides an overview of active mitigation plans related to data scans for your instance. It tracks progress in addressing identified sensitive data issues and guides ongoing remediation efforts.
