Steps to Scan a Linux/NAS Device

Add the NAS/Linux Device as a Target
If the target device (Linux/NAS) was not identified during a discovery scan, you can manually add it as a target:

  • Navigate to Admin > Targets in your CYRISMA instance.
  • On the Targets page, click Add New Target.
  • Manually fill out the target form by providing the IP address or hostname of the Linux/NAS device you want to scan.

Select a Windows Agent for Scanning
When scheduling the scan, select an agent on a Windows machine that is on the same network as the target NAS device:

  • Ensure that the selected Windows agent is on the same network to ensure access to the NAS device.

Supply Linux Credentials
While scheduling the scan, in the Credentials section, select the Alternative radial button to provide your Linux/NAS credentials:

  • Input the required Username, Password, and Domain for the Linux/NAS device.
  • After supplying the credentials, submit the scan request to begin the process.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you can use a CYRISMA Windows agent to scan a Linux or NAS device. Be sure to manually add the NAS device under Admin > Targets, select a Windows agent on the same network, and provide the correct credentials in the Credentials section using the Alternative option to complete the setup.
